Ceramic Tile is aesthetically beautiful. If your mind is uncertain whether to go with ceramic tile or one of its lesser appealing alternatives think about the value and style you will be adding to your home or office by choosing ceramic tile.

Ceamic tile is extremely durable. Over the years the ceramic tile industry has improved the way tile is produced and manufactured. New methods of glazing and raw material used in the manufacturing of ceramic/porcelain tile can be attributed to improved durability. Tile is meant to last for a long time, meaning well over 20 years. Compare that statistic to vinyl tile or hardwood flooring (which needs to be refinished over time) and you will be shocked. Ceramic tile will never shrink, fade or expand. For those of you who say, “ I have had ceramic tile and it cracked on me!” well there could be several reasons for that. One we hear a lot is dropped objects on tile. Believe us when we tell you that it really takes a heavy object dropped on the tile to crack it. More often than not whatever you drop on the tile will break! Improper installation is the number one reason why ceramic tile cracks. Several simple steps can be done to ensure that your ceramic tile is properly installed: having a proper sub floor, using the right setting material, and tools. Although exterior grade plywood has been used for years and is still being used as a sub floor, there are better alternatives. Hardiebacker is a product we carry and highly recommend to be used as a subfloor. The tile industry has grown significantly in its technological department over the past 15 years and will continue to do so as the years go on. Most tiles being manufactured today are made of porcelain, which is a stronger denser ceramic product. Some of the newer lines now feature HD technology in which a picture of real stone is taken and replicated on porcelain tile. There are also many newly improved stronger bonding setting material alternatives on the market designed for various applications.

Easy Maintenance

Since most ceramic tile has a glazed surface on its body that means cleaning up is very easy. Even natural full-bodied unglazed porcelain when properly sealed is easy to keep clean. We see your ceramic tile purchase as an investment and feel to properly protect it that you clean it with tile specific cleaning agents. Aqua Mix is a line of tile care products that we carry in stock. Aqua Mix solely makes products for the ceramic tile and stone industry. For instance Aqua Mix Concentrated Tile and Stone Cleaner is less expensive than household cleaners you can buy at grocery stores. These household cleaners are not made specifically for ceramic tile and may in fact harm the glaze on your tile over time. Glazed ceramic tile is non-porous which means you never have to worry about staining or discoloration. This means you will have less germs and bacteria in your home. For those of you worried about the grout, we also carry Aqua Mix grout sealer, which will protect your grout from staining and changing color over time.

Pricing for ceramic tile is very competitive when considering its alternatives. The long-term benefits of ceramic tile simply speak for itself. The look and beauty can only enhance the value of your home and leave a lasting impression on your family and friends. UCTD features ceramic tile in various price levels.
